poem: the best gift-His gift

The best gift: His gift.

‘Tis the season.

Wide ribbons, bright red and green

Sparkles everywhere

Hot chocolate and crisp mornings

The smell of pumkin pie

Christmas cards with peace, doves and winter scenes

What is the best gift?

Once upon a time I got a gift

It was not decorated with ribbon and bows

It was not bought at a mall or a superstore

It did not even involve someone waiting in line

This gift was the best gift ever

It was the gift of life.

For, It was my time

On that day, In sunny California

I received my gift, my gift of life

Jesus is the reason..

As I wrap presents and put them under the tree

I think of Jesus and what he did for me

He willingly gave his life

So that I can live mine…

It was the ultimate sacrifice

No wrapping paper can cover that,

No ribbon big enough

No basket or bag deep enough

No box can contain…

His gift

His gift did not contain the stresses of the season

And did not even involve walmart

His gift was the gift of life,

It was his life…that he gave for me and for you too

I can not Thank God enough..for my life, for my child, and for you.

What is your gift?

He gave willingly so that we can receive love,

So that we can give love

So we can give hope

So that we can give gifts too

Gifts that don’t involve bows and ribbons

love,

joy,

peace,

longsuffering,

kindness,

goodness,

faithfulness,

gentleness, and

self-control

The best gifts are those we do not see

The best gift God gave us was his Son

The best give I can give are those that are

Not visible, but are within me

Such as love and joy

Peace and faithfulness

Open your gifts…from me to you…

Gifts of blessings, of love and laughter

Gifts from my heart.

Your gift is unseen but it is real…

Know that the best gifts are those that do not have fancy ribbons and bows.
