poem: stone cold heart

Stone Cold Heart

She loved him and will never love again.

No longer green and impressionable

life takes a toll on her heart, basting it in

bitterness and distrust, hatred and despair.

The mind builds an impermeable steel case around

her now stone cold heart.

Lies or truths

it is all the same…

verbage that slips from the silver’d tongue is all alike

and is all “fuk’n bullshit” she proclaims.

She once withheld an untouched heart

beating strong and unafraid

all in the name of love does it die

her heart is cold and hard,

tainted by life…

Pictures erased from memory

traces of evilness evade the mind

no shadows of darkness dance about

haunting her gray matter.

Words kiss upon pierced ear lobes

never penetrating

 fall unheard

to the earth’s soil.

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, Love no evil
