poem: rise up

Last night God put a poem in my heart and I did not act on it immediately, but I know that he gave me this because when I was doing my random bible reading I read Ephesians 5:13-14. I will include this at the closure of the poem. I thank God for the ability to know him better today.

Rise Up!
and step out in faith
behold the works I am doing in you

I said RISE UP because I gave you life, a life to live!
I made your body, my child and it is a temple
do you see those blue veins?
that is a map of your journeys

Rise up
and see those sags and wrinkles..
love them because i gave you life…
a life to live, so do not dwell

Rise up
and look at those scars,
those scars are from battles…
battles in which you overcame, declare victory!

Rise UP!
…child WE have work to do
save your brothers and sisters
for I put them in your care

so rise up, my beloved
and do not waiver, because I gave you a life
a life to LIVE

Then I had a moment of delight and joy when I read this:

ASV
Eph 5:13-14

But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.

For this reason it says, “Awake, sleeper, and arrive from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Love your body..you were made in his image. Love each other…because that is your brother and sister. Live…because we have the privilege to.

HUGZ,

Liz Rose
