Poem: Like Clockwork, a love letter

Baby (’cause you will always be my baby),

I gave you my love,
You ran and hid
I was too much for you to handle
After not getting love-like-mine
You came back on bended knee.

Like clockwork

I gave you money
You ran and dodged me
I could see
You ran out of cash
You came back broken and flat-busted.

Like clockwork

I gave you time, my life
But you did not accept me
Better things to do, hang with your homies(rolls eyes)
Baby, hang with them, they can’t know you like me
Now you’re wounded and alone..forsaken.
You limped back, head hanging down…

Like clockwork

I picked your torn-up, worn-out ass up (again),
I dusted you off,
I fed you,
I provided,
I loved you and loved you more,
I fussed and fought for you…
Like …….
Clockwork

Unconditionally yours,
Jesus.
